As part of Hanseatic League, Gdansk was the biggest city on territory of Poland and largest harbor on the Baltic Sea, supplying Europe and the world with “Baltic Gold” – amber and finest furnitures. The Town was also a birthplace of D. Fahrenheit, J. Hevelius and G. Grass. The II World War started here, the begging of the end of The Cold War thanks to Solidarity and Lech Walesa had place in Gdansk’s shipyard.
